Journey from Child to Grownup

As baby we are loved, cared and pampered. As we grow we learn new things and in our child days our every act is appreciated, our every learning is celebrated by our parents, relatives and most of the people around us. In our childhood we get what we ask for easily. Our parents take efforts to make us comfortable and focus on our upbringing. We get habituated to this love.

As we grow old, since we are habituated to this comfort level of being loved from people around us, we expect same thing. But we meet new people and may not experience same love what we used to get in our childhood days from everyone. And then we get hurt. Even if we grow old we behave as a kid inside to seek love from everyone around us as our past experience.

But as we grow old instead of seeking love we should learn to give love. We should learn to love without any expectations. That’s when we will truly be called as grownups.

A Story of a Wisdom Seeker

There was a rich person who had all material things in his life. But he was tired of having everything in his life as he is left with no goal or wish to achieve anything more in his life.

The more you achieve you understand you don’t get satisfaction or happiness with it. A poor person has lots of wishes, desires in his life. That makes that persons life going. But for rich person all his wishes are complete and he understands the things which he was running after are meaningless. He realizes that’s mirage.

Then this mas starts seeking for wisdom, the ultimate truth. He starts his search for Guru who will guide him. Someone tells him the wise person resides in Himalayas. He takes effort to find him in Himalayas. Finally, he finds that wise person sitting in ice under a tree. The rich man is very tired by the time he finds the wise man. He greets the wise man and asks him how will I be happy, show me the way to achieve wisdom. The wise man asks for cigarette to him. The rich man gets surprised. But he offers few cigarettes to wise man. And ask again the same question. The wise man tells him get me few more cigarettes next time and I will tell the truth. The rich man gets stunned. He says I have very short life, I am very tired, let me know what should I do to get happiness. The wise man asks him to go home, take rest and come back. But, don’t forget to get cigarettes for me. The rich man becomes annoyed. The wise man says its up to you, if you feel like to come back you can, there are many people who come here to seek wisdom will get cigarettes for me. The rich man agrees to go back and thinks will come back if I am alive.

The depressed rich man starts thinking over what the wise man said to him. Go home and take rest. May be the wise man has spoken the truth in encoded message. So he understand ones home is his own mind. Free yourself, search peace within yourself, you will find happiness.
