What is GOD.......

I always wonder ‘What is GOD’, Sometimes I doubt existence of GOD?

Whenever I find short and sweet definition of GOD, I am going to add it in this blog and I also would like you to add to it.

GOD stands for Generator, Operator and Destroyer. The present moment has generated, the present moment is operating and the present moment destroyed the past. So, you are in GOD…. And GOD is in you.

Hi Anwi,

Thanks for your comment. I still remember the way we used to have our long discussion on various topics and this used to be one of our topics of discussions

During medieval times, Man made GOD to explain the "UNKNOWN". Everything which he didn't know or understand, he had "GOD" or "DEVIL" to fall back upon. I believe the day Man has answers to all his questions, he would not need GOD.

God... It's s belief.
We all need a friend who listens to us without arguing, to whom we can tell our guilts and for surely knowing that He will understand us. For me sometimes in the moments of weakness and sorrows He is a support, and most importantly a HOPE. The way, as a child I used to cling to our mom and cry, sometimes I feel God is that mother.

Well, God definitely exists but inside you. Everyone person is GOD but it depends on how you mould that GOD.

The other perspective to see is : If you believe in a person who believes in God, it indirectly means you believe in God (since you believe in that person's belief).

In today's fast paced world, a single deed of HUMANITY is what we(and God)) wants and nothing else !!!

I am also looking for more definitions ...

Hi Varada,

I hope you remember me. I met you on Orkut.

The thread which you have just started is the topic of Myth and belief. However, everyone's view is unique and respected.

According to me, God is one only, one without a second. His nature is eternal, existence, Consciousness, Bliss. He is the creator of our universe. He creates it by His power out of Himself, sustains it and then withdraws it into Himself, once its purpose is over. This process goes on for ever, in a cyclic order.

Once this universe is brought into being, it is He who rules it like an emperor meting out rewards and punishments to the living beings in accordance with their merit and demerit. He is all knowing, all powerful, all pervading, as also the indwelling controller of all beings. He is the repository of truth, knowledge and beauty; in fact, the perfect embodiment of all the great virtues that one can ever imagine. But compassion towards the bound and suffering souls is His cardinal virtue. In fact the very creation of this world is for the uplift of these fallen beings, so that they can gradually be raised to the spiritual plane, ultimately reaching perfection. He is fond of faith and devotion. It is easy to propitiate Him through self surrender. If He is pleased, our life will become blessed.

He is both with form and without form. Not only that, He can incarnate Himself in this world to raise us from the brute level to divine heights.

We often divide God which is our faux pas. Nevertheless, Forms are different,

but The God is One.

I was reading a book today Autobiography of Yogi its nice book ltl difficult to understand. But still i liked it. There is a comment by Lao-tzu, He who knows tells it not; he who tells, knows it not". The final mysteries of GOd are not "open to discussion". The decipherment of the secret codeis an art that man can not communicate to man; here the lord alone is the teacher.

in other words, you can not define who/what is god in the worrds. Or you can not define how god looks like, is s/he is in the form of diety or humen or form of light.

As per the scripture the isvara is defined as a person who posses 6 characteristics. Also he has all the 24 elements which are required to manifest the universe.

Human senses are very limited, as we can not see that there is a air around, or earth is rotating aroung the sun. We know this as it has been proved by scientist based on certain assumptions. Similarly our (scientist) senses can not realise existence of the god.

Aaj ke liye itna kafi hai .. feeling sleepy will add something to this topic next time when i am logging in.
